November 2024

Artifex Engineering Scholarship Winner.

We’re pleased to announce that we have awarded the 2024 Artifex Engineering Scholarship to Elise Lindsay who will be starting her Bachelor of Engineering studies at University of Canterbury in 2025.

Our scholarship program is intended to seek year 13 students with a high achieving academic achievement and who come from a background where there is limited exposure to university trained professionals in the extended family and friends’ network.

Studying engineering can be challenging on its own, and then entering the workforce at the end can be daunting if the students don’t understand what a professional career might look like, or have good knowledge of what a professional engineering career can be, and don’t know people within their family or friend circle that can help guide and coach. Our Scholarship is tailored to assist with these aspects.

Applicants came in from multiple high schools in Hastings and we were impressed with the calibre of students, making the job of selecting the worthiest recipient difficult.

Elise is a year 13 student from Karamu High School who finished year 11 and 12 with excellence endorsements in almost all her subjects and received the Prestigious Award for Academic Excellence in both 2022 and 2023.

Aside from some financial input over the 4-year degree, Elise will be paired up with one of our engineers who will provide mentoring throughout her studies, we also hope to have Elise come to our clients’ sites and get exposure to many of our projects, meet our clients and gain valuable industry design, project management and construction knowledge.

Congratulations Elise, and all the best for your studies.
